Enable Links / Favorites Bar in IE9

IE9 doesn't auto-enable the Favorites (Links) toolbar: this has annoyed several of my peers used to having it in IE8. To enable it...

Manually

ALT -> View -> Toolbars -> Favorites Bar

Registry
Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\MINIE]
"LinksBandEnabled"=dword:00000001

  1. Will this work for 32 and 64? Will it work for all new users as well?

  2. Your instructions are sadly too brief. A screenshot or two, or even a verb or so would help. I'm holding down the alt key and can't find View anywhere, so then I'm stuck.

    OK, I played around. How about this: Right-click on the header and click Favorites bar. Done.
